Christian Forum Releases 'Video' Of Raipur Church Attackers
RAIPUR:Within hours of the arrest of nine men today, the Chhattisgarh Christian Forum released a cellphone video to the media, claiming it contained the footage of Sunday's attack on a church in Raipur.
The video shows four men vandalizing furniture, musical instruments and mocking the devotees.
Forum President Arjun Pannalal has claimed around 25 slogan-shouting men of Bajrang Dal had barged into the church premises during a prayer meeting, beaten up men women and children and vandalized the church. Around 65 worshippers were present at the time.
This morning, the police however, claimed the arrested men did not belong to any party or group.
The arrests were made after the victims had identified the attackers, who were all local men. The police have said another seven to eight persons are likely to be arrested soon.
The arrests were made after the police tracked the men through three motorbikes they police had seized from the spot.
The Union home ministry has asked for a report on the incident. "The administration has taken action and the culprits will not be spared," said junior home minister Kiren Rijiju.
"They started damaging everything and tore up the women's clothes... They also knocked down a child... When the police came, they ran away," Mr Pannalal, who also filed the complaint with the police, had told the media.

DO YOU KNOW THE MOST VISITING CHURCH IN INDIA
BASILICA OF BOM JESUS-GOA
The Basilica of bom jesus church is located in goa(india). This church is accidentally burnt down in 1663 and was rebuilt in 1783. The meaning of 'bom jesus' is good jesus or infant jesus.
The church is around 300 years old and holds the remains of St. Francis Xavier.
It is one of the finest examples of Portuguese influence as the edifice is done in signature Baroque style.
The flooring has been done in marble, inlaid with precious stones, the altar is elaborate with gilded gold work, the murals and the artistic rendition are also worth the appreciation.
The church has been declared as the world heritage site and also boasts of a museum.
A large number of believers gather at the church when the preserved body of Saint Francis Xavier is put on display.
asilica of Bom Jesus also houses an art gallery. This modern art gallery is one of the largest and one of its kinds in Asia. The gallery houses paintings of Italian art. The gallery has 36 oil paintings that have been made between 1973 and 1976. The largest two are 'The Last Judgement' (6ft x 9ft) and 'Genesis' (4ft x 28ft).
ASI's Mini Circle conducted conservation work in the church of Bom Jesus. They removed and re-laid the broken marble slabs of the floor. The decayed wooden beams and planks of the first floor verandah as well as the doors and the windows were replaced. A compound wall was also constructed by them and a cement concrete wall was provided to the underground drain.
TIMINGS OF THE CHURCH:
- Weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m and Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Holy hour is celebrated at 5 pm on first Friday of the month.
The Basilica of Bom Jesus church remains open all year round. So one can visit this spot at any time of the year. The timing of church during normal days & during masses is different.

1 Hour is enough to see Basilica of Bom Jesus church Goa.
EATING STUFF:
There are some restaurants nearby the basilica of bom Jesus to grab a bite. But if are coming from Panaji or Vasco then those cities have more options to eat.

As the church is nor far from Panaji, it is a good option to stay in Panaji. Panaji has many hotels & resorts offering comfortable accommodation facilities.

The Story Behind the 26/11 Braveheart:
India would remember 26 November 2008 as a day when our security forces displayed outstanding courage in overcoming the siege at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.
The elite National Security Guard (NSG) had to be called in to defeat the terrorists on 27 November. Fighting the terrorists on unfamiliar terrain, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan lost his life during the attack.
Unnikrishnan led his team of NSG commandos up to the sixth floor of the Taj Hotel and was able to rescue 14 hostages from the clutches of the terrorists.
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan died on the 28 November 2008 when he succumbed to bullets injuries that he had received while fighting and engaging terrorists during Operation Black Tornado.
The 31-year-old was the only son of a retired ISRO Officer K Unnikrishnan and Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan and was inducted into the Army in 1999.
He was given the Ashoka Chakra by the Indian government, which is the highest peace-time gallantry award.
The last message of the courageous officer of the Indian Army to the men carrying out the operation under him was, “Do not come up, I will handle them”.
This has now become a hallmark of his bravery.
